Exa
Exa deep exa/deep
Exa deep multi-query search. Available through Mux with the same request and response shape as every other model, at Exa’s list price.
Call it
curl https://api.getmux.io/v1/search \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $MUX_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"query": "open source vector databases", "model": "exa/deep", "max_results": 10}'What a request costs
Each request includes 10 results. Results beyond 10 cost $0.001 each, billed on what the provider returns and never on more than you asked for. Requests that fail are refunded.

Use it with a fallback
Put exa/deep first and a model from another provider after it. If Exa errors or times out, Mux refunds the attempt and tries the next one. You pay for the model that answered.
const res = await mux.search({
query: "open source vector databases",
models: ["exa/deep","parallel/turbo"], // tried in order
});
console.log(res.model, res.attempts);How Exa behaves through Mux

Exa deep FAQ
How much does exa/deep cost per search?
$0.0120 per request with up to 10 results ($12.00 per 1,000 requests). Each result beyond 10 adds $0.001, billed on the results the provider returns. Failed calls are refunded.
Is there a markup on Exa's price?
No. Mux passes through Exa's list price per request. The only fee is 5.5% (minimum $0.80) when you buy credits, or 5% of list price after 1,000,000 monthly requests when you bring your own Exa key.
Can I use my own Exa API key?
Yes. Store it with a management key and requests to exa/deep are made with your key and billed by Exa directly. The first 1,000,000 such requests a month carry no Mux fee.
What happens if Exa is down?
If you pinned exa/deep the request fails and you are refunded. If you passed a models list, Mux refunds the failed attempt and tries the next model in your list, so your agent still gets an answer.
